Our first Web Store was hosted on iCat.com. Our first full web site was hosted on Xoom.com. Our second Web Store was hosted on FreeMerchant (safeshopper.com). Our current web site and store host is www.netfirms.com. All of these sites were designed and maintained by Bonnie, who is the owner of Giffco. We also have a family web site, including a picture site for our daughter. We have links to this business site on our personal web site and I (Bonnie) also promote this business on the various forums that I visit - through my signature - which mentions this business web site address. I am quite a Survivor Nut - and manage the Survivor - The Tribe Has Spoken Forum.
Giffco started out selling mail order catalog products to family and friends. During the first five years on the web, we offered to mail a free catalogs to our visitors and included a discount coupon to be used on the first order. In November of 2002, due to the rising cost of paper and postage, we made the decision to offer our catalogs in pdf format online at our web site.
We use Mals e-commerce cart software for online ordering of some items.
In 2000 and 2001 Giffco sponsored the KDKA employee softball team. Giffco provided their uniforms and attended almost all of their games. The second year, they lost some of their players to other companies, and did not play a full season.
Some shows that Giffco has participated in: Alwine Civic Center Vendor Fair, Hills Church Vendor Fair, Masontown Halloween Parade and Street Fair, Murrysville Community Days, First Presbyterian Christmas Craft Show and Tag Sale. We have also set up at the Greengate Mall Flea Market and Sardis Park Flea Market.
From March 2001 to March 2003 we were a vendor at the New Blair Fleatique in New Alexandria, PA. We had a disagreement with the owners, so we decided to move out. This flea market is now closed and is no longer in business.
February of 2003 Giffco started selling some on eBay.com. Visit our About Me page to see if we have any items being Auctioned.
From August 2003 to March 2005 we were a vendor at the L & L Fleatique in Jeannette, PA. Our vendor number was # 72.
Most of 2005 and 2006 we spent a lot of time on a business venture that my husband was trying to get off the ground.
But in 2007, we plan to do some much needed updates to our website.
Of course, we are always on the lookout for a good outdoor flea market. But, we don't plan on setting up at any flea market every weekend. If we do find a good one, that we decide to set up at regular intervals we will post more information on our spaces page.
